Pros: Beautiful, sets the tone, shows brand personality. Familiar pattern (every modern app does this).
Cons: Extra taps before content. Some users skip without reading.
Best for: Brand-first impression, pitch demos.

Welcome to the neighborhood! Here's what's happening this week:

🎉 Trivia at Pete's — Thursday 7pm (14 going)
🏃 Running club — Saturday 8am, McCarren
🍕 New pizza place on Bedford — 8 neighbors recommend it

Pros: Personal, warm, immediately shows real content. Ties into AI assistant identity. Unique — nobody onboards this way.
Cons: More steps. Might feel slow if user just wants to browse. Chat-based onboarding is unusual.
Best for: "New here" users, making the AI feel central from the start.

Pros: Instant content visible behind overlay. Lowest friction — 2 taps and you're in. Shows the feed is alive before you've even set up.
Cons: No interests selection (could add). Less "wow" moment. Functional but not memorable.
Best for: Minimal friction, "just show me the app" users.

Hybrid Option: A → B

Best of both worlds: Start with Option A's beautiful swipe cards (3 screens, brand impression, 10 seconds). After "Get Started," show the neighborhood + interest picker from A's page 2. Then, after the user lands on the feed, the AI chat bubble pulses with a personalized welcome: "Welcome to Williamsburg! I see you're into food and events — here's what's happening this week..." This gives you the brand moment (A) + the personal concierge feel (B) + instant content (they're in the feed).
